Ways to Celebrate Spring in Eustis, FL

Tulips in the sun | Eustis, FL

Spring has officially sprung in Eustis, Florida, and while we are blessed with excellent weather year-round, it’s hard to avoid the urge to get swept up in the season. If you’re looking for some activities to ring in the season with cheer, keep reading for some of our favorite ideas.

  1. Visit Trout Lake Nature Center: This gorgeous nature center right here in Eustis is a local treasure. Covering approximately 230 acres of land, this preserve features gorgeous trees, amazing scenery, and plenty of fresh air. Trout Lake Nature Center was founded to help educate Eustis natives about wildlife conservation.
  • Get active on Lake Norris: The Lake Norris Conservation Area is one of our favorite places to explore, and with the lovely spring weather it really comes alive. Bring your bike, dog, or horse to explore one of Lake Norris’ many trails, or haul your kayak out to Blackwater Creek for a day out on the water.
  • Get a green thumb: It’s easy to believe that one of the sacrifices of living in sunny Florida is missing out on tulip season, but that just isn’t true. You can mimic the cold weather the bulbs need to take root by storing them in an empty refrigerator, then planting them in winter. By the time spring rolls around, they’ll be in full bloom.

Don’t forget to celebrate the changing seasons by getting your spring tune-up here at Vann Gannaway Chevrolet.

Bradenton Beach Scenic Highway

Take a 3-mile drive along the Gulf Coast and view the beautiful Bradenton Beach along the way. If you see a site that catches your eye, there are lots of opportunities to park your vehicle and explore. You can also pack your bike and ride on the path for part of the journey.

City of Eustis 2nd Annual Georgefest Chili Cook Off

Last Saturday, the City of Eustis hosted their 2nd Annual GeorgeFest chili cook off at Ferran Park.  Ten teams faced off in this exciting event.  It was a great time with many attendees coming out and tasting their delicious creations.   We had the honor of cheering on Rusty Seely, one of our Body Shop Technicians, as he prepared his top-secret chili recipe.  Rusty knocked it out of the park and earned 1st place trophy as all around winner and 1st place people’s choice winner!  Congratulations Team Seely!
