When it’s too cold to head to the beach, take a scenic drive with your family and see Florida’s beautiful nature. Here are just a few scenic drives in central Florida that you can enjoy this fall.
Bradenton Beach Scenic Highway
Take a 3-mile drive along the Gulf Coast and view the beautiful Bradenton Beach along the way. If you see a site that catches your eye, there are lots of opportunities to park your vehicle and explore. You can also pack your bike and ride on the path for part of the journey.
Florida Black Bear National Scenic Byway
Winding over 123 miles, this drive takes you by the Ocala National Forest, where you can see trees and springs, instead of beaches. You could also see a Florida black bear along the way.
Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Byway
This drive spans 233 miles, so you should consider setting aside more than one day for exploring it. The drive passes through three different wildlife refuges, making this a fantastic route if you love spotting different plants and animals.
Courtney Campbell Scenic Highway
The Courtney Campbell Scenic Highway takes you from Tampa to Clearwater, while giving you lovely views of the waves. Keep a lookout for wildlife while you drive the 10 miles.
