The 2019 Chevrolet Blazer recently made the 2019 Wards Best UX list for its impressive technologies. The Blazer is one of only 10 vehicles to make the list, which recognizes vehicles for having innovative and user-friendly technologies.
The editors at WardsAuto judged the
vehicles’ smartphone integration, voice control, navigation, display screens
and safety systems when comprising the list. The editors commuted in the vehicles
to see how effective and helpful the features were.
It was noted that the Blazer, in particular,
had an easy-to-use 8-inch touch screen, which is in a high position and has
large icons. The Blazer also has an online shopping app built into the
infotainment system, as well as dependable OnStarÒ
Wi-FiÒ. The large HVAC vents also are conveniently adjustable and make
drives more comfortable.
The editors appreciated the available
safety features in the Blazer, like Adaptive Cruise Control, which can
automatically modify your speed to keep you at a safe following distance from
the detected vehicle in front of you. Forward Automatic Braking and Lane Keep
Assist with Lane Departure Warning also give you peace of mind on drives.
We at Vann Gannaway Chevrolet proudly offer the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer. We encourage you to take the SUV out for a test drive at our dealership.
Before winter arrives, it’s important to prepare your vehicle for the cold weather. Follow these fall vehicle maintenance tips to help take proper care of your vehicle.
Check your battery
The last thing you want is a dead battery on a snowy day. That’s
why you should check the connections to make sure they are clear of dirt. If
you see some corrosion, disconnect the connections and use a wire brush to clean
Replace your wipers
Usually, you should replace your windshield wipers every six
to 12 months. They also need to be replaced if they leave behind streaks of
water. You can typically clean the wiper blades with glass cleaner and a paper
towel to prolong their life for a few extra weeks if necessary.
Inspect your tires
Stick a penny in the tread groove on your tire. When placing
the penny headfirst, if you can still view the top of Lincoln’s head, then you
need to invest in new tires. You may also want to consider purchasing winter
tires for more traction on the snow.
If you discover that you need replacements, repairs or general maintenance for your vehicle, stop by our service department at Vann Gannaway Chevrolet, and we’ll be happy to get your vehicle ready for winter.

Chevrolet released a new advertisement that showcases the impressive Durabed in the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The “Real People, Not Actors” ad highlights the integrity and functionality of this new pickup bed by having real people comment on the truck.
The ad begins in a warehouse at night, with the only light
shining down on the 2019 Silverado 1500. A host leads a group of participants
to the Durabed, where people describe the bed as “sturdy” and “huge.” The
Durabed is lit up by the available LED bed lighting, showcasing the lighting’s
power, with a participant even remarking that it “lights up the entire bed.”
Another feature emphasized in the spot is the 120-volt
outlet that’s built into the Durabed. Once a chord plugs into the outlet, other
lights come on in the warehouse, revealing the eight trims of the Silverado
1500. It’s a unique way of both showing the effectiveness of the outlet and the
huge amount of trims.
We at Vann Gannaway Chevrolet are proud to offer the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 on our lot. Stop by for a test drive to check out the Durabed and other great features.
Chevrolet has established itself as a leader in the SUV and
electric vehicle segments. Popular SUVs and crossovers like the Equinox and the
Traverse provide modern families with the comfort, versatility, and performance
that they crave. Exceptionally-efficient EVs like the Volt and the Bolt
consistently push the boundaries of eco-friendly driving.
Word on the street has it that Chevrolet intends to offer a
best-of-both-worlds offering in the form of the Bolt EUV,
which the automaker recently registered as a trademark. While many details
remain a mystery, the newly-coined moniker suggests that the automaker might
expand the EV nameplate to Electric Utility Vehicle. This hints that it is
developing a brand-new electric crossover vehicle.
If this speculation proves true, it would be the first-ever
electric SUV from Chevrolet and would expand the brand’s EV lineup. It would also
confirm the automaker’s intention to prioritize new powertrain technologies,
like those found in the 2019 Bolt EV, in the days ahead.
As more consumers demand efficiency and clean energy when
it comes to their next vehicle, it’s likely that the new Chevy EUV will attract
a noteworthy fan base. Contact us at Vann Gannaway Chevy for more news about
the anticipated EUV model. Or, stop by to test drive one of the brand’s current
offerings, like the 2019 Traverse or Equinox.
General Motors recently donated a pre-production model of the self-driving Chevy Bolt, an all-electric hatchback that boasts one of the highest electric driving ranges in the auto industry, to the Henry Ford Museum’s “Driving America” exhibit.
This exhibit shows the growth of innovation in the auto industry over the last 150 years, from the oldest surviving American-made car, the 1865 Ford Roper, to the earliest racing cars of the 1960s. It also has more modern additions such as the first hybrids dating from the early 2000s. As one of the first fully electric cars to incorporate self-driving tech, the Chevy Bolt definitely enhances the vehicle’s “green car” models on display.
GM and Ford may be fierce rivals, but as America’s two biggest native automakers, in many ways they’re partners. GM donated $5 million to the Henry Ford Museum back in 2017, recognizing the value of a museum in preserving American auto history in the Motor City.
Ford plans to display the self-driving Chevrolet Bolt at the very front of the “Driving America” exhibit, according to museum curator Matt Anderson. The Bolt will be the first vehicle the Henry Ford Museum displays that uses self-driving technology, making its inclusion even more special.
Stop by Vann Gannaway Chevy to test-drive the Chevy Bolt for yourself. Or take one of our other shiny new 2019 models for a whirl.
You might not realize it, but General Motors is very dedicated to the future of electric vehicles. In fact, it has already produced two popular electrified cars, the innovative Chevrolet Volt and the all-electric Chevrolet Bolt. In Europe, however, GM is also focusing on something else, electric bikes.
The brand’s electric bikes, which are branded as ARĪV eBikes, are set to go on sale later this year in Europe. Last year, GM held an online crowdsourcing campaign to help choose the name for the eBike brand. In the end, ARĪV came out as the winner.
There will be two models available, the Merge and the Meld. The Meld is a compact bike, while the Merge can be folded to make it fit into even smaller storage areas.
When fully charged, the bikes can drive up to 64 kilometers (39.76 miles) and reach speeds up to 25 kph (15.53 mph). It takes about 3.5 hours to fully recharge the bikes. The bikes will come with a companion app that will let owners track its charge status and other valuable information. There will also be a USB port on the bike so riders can charge up mobile devices, too.
The bikes will go on sale in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany late this spring with a price between $3-4K.

A spring break road trip is a great way to escape the daily grind, but it can also take a toll on your wallet depending on where you go. Luckily, there are a number of affordable spring break destinations, especially if you’re willing to take a road trip. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing beach setting or simply a change of pace, there’s an ideal spring break location for everyone.
Travel Channel recommends taking a trip to Washington D.C. While most people don’t think of the U.S. capital as a spring break destination, it has tons of history, lots of free museums and galleries, and iconic landmarks. Plus, there are a number of great places to stop along the route from Florida to D.C.
Looking for something a little closer to home? Visit Sanibel Island, Florida. It’s best to visit this area between February and April, however, if you want to find shells along the shore. Plus, the sandy beaches provide a comfortable place to relax, and it’s less crowded than other beaches in the state during spring break.
Lastly, New Orleans, Louisiana is another great, budget-friendly destination. The city boasts a dynamic nightlife scene, Southern comfort food, and a historic French quarter. Plus, if you avoid airfare and opt for road-tripping, you can save even more money.
Contact us at Vann Gannaway Chevrolet if your vehicle needs a tune-up before you embark on your spring break road trip.
The new Silverado stands out from the competition. The latest reason is that it just earned an award from WardsAuto. The new 6.2-liter V8 engine was ranked on the Wards 10 Best Engines List, offering Dynamic Fuel Management to save you money at the gas pump without sacrificing power. The massive engine is the largest and most powerful gasoline V8 in the segment.
WardsAuto evaluates every all-new or improved engine available in the US, gauging factors like power, torque, fuel economy, noise, and innovative technologies. Judges were particularly impressed by the Dynamic Fuel Management system, which works to alternative between eight- and four-cylinder modes to save on gas when possible. According to Chevy, the new 6.2-liter V8 engine generates 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, and it’s paired with an innovative Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission.
“Chevrolet first introduced its Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation system in 2005, and Dynamic Fuel Management is a natural progression of the technology,” said Jordan Lee, Small Block chief engineer. “Dynamic Fuel Management enables only the cylinders needed to deliver the power you want, seamlessly delivering the best balance of power and fuel economy.”
In addition to the innovative engine, the new Silverado comes with a lighter design, cutting 450 pounds compared to previous model years thanks to a new mixed-material design. Offered in regular, double, and crew cab body styles with available 4WD, the Silverado is perfect for everyone. To learn more about it or go for a test drive, contact us at Vann Gannaway Chevrolet.
