While some people don’t mind blending in with the crowd, many of us like to express our own personalities and find ways to stand out. At the end of this month at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Chevrolet will showcase unique ways to customize the all-new 2019 Silverado.
It will display four custom trucks that feature numerous accessories and parts for the 2019 Silverado. These trucks will show customers how easy it can be to create a truck that suits their needs and lifestyle.
Hugh Milne, Silverado marketing manager, said, “With a full catalog of accessories and performance parts, we offer exponentially more ways for customers to build their ideal truck. And, unlike certain aftermarket components, these are designed, engineered and validated to the same engineering standards as the Silverado itself, and backed by Chevrolet.”
The updated accessories and performance parts include items like illuminated bowtie emblems, step kits, tonneau covers, brake systems, and cargo bed storage boxes. The GM-designed parts are built to fit and work precisely with the redesigned Silverado. In addition, if installed at a Chevrolet dealership, they are covered by a warranty.
You can take a look at these new accessories and part online at Chevrolet.com/accessories. Contact us at Vann Gannaway Chevrolet for more information about delivery and installation.
Living in Florida has a variety of benefits. One of those is living so close to so many beautiful beaches. However, after spending a sunny day at the beach, the inevitable happens—you get sand in your car or truck. Here are a few tips on how to get that sand out of your car.
Shake It Out
Once you get home from the beach, carefully take everything out of your car and shake it out. This includes the floor mats and any seat protectors you might have. When you are planning a trip to the beach, it is a good idea to use covers on the seats and floors, or at least towels, if you don’t have anything else.
If sand does get in your carpet or upholstery, you need to get it out as quickly as possible. This is because as it works itself into the carpet, it can eventually break apart the fibers. After shaking everything out, use a strong vacuum to suck up all the sand. Make sure you get in between all the crevices. Use a damp microfiber cloth to clean up any remaining particles. You can also use q-tips to clean in hard-to-reach areas.
If you need a new vehicle to take to the beach, or you’re just looking for some new floor mats to help keep the sand contained, contact us at Vann Gannaway Chevrolet.
If you child in high school or college, it’s time to get your car ready for the new school year. Especially for new drivers, it’s crucial to make sure your car is in great condition in order to avoid any dangerous situations whether your child is on their way to high school or driving around campus. Follow these tips for getting your car ready for back to school so your student driver can drive with confidence.
Before your kid heads back to school, take some time to examine out the condition of their car’s tires. Check for proper inflation, alignment and tread and consider replacing the tires if they are looking visibly worn down. Healthy tires are one of the most important aspects of car safety, so replacing them before they’re completely worn out is always a good idea.
Check emergency kit
Your child’s car should contain an emergency kit containing essential items that make a huge difference in the event of an emergency. Such a kit should have a blanket, a change of clothes, and a battery-powered cellphone charge, food, and water.
Talk about safety
Finally, talk to your kid about driving safety before they go back to school. Between late night parties and all-nighter study sessions, there is plenty of potential for dangerous driving situations at school.
If your teen’s car isn’t quite up to standards, or you’re looking for a car to buy, contact us at Vann Gannaway Chevrolet. We’ll be happy to help make sure this school is the safest one ever.
The Chevy Blazer is a classic SUV that’s coming back for the 2019 model year. The 2019 Blazer design promises to be bold and modern, including a number of features you won’t find elsewhere. Designed to fill demand between the Equinox and Traverse, the Blazer is a surprisingly contemporary midsize SUV.
According to Chevy, the Blazer design will feature dramatic sculpting to accent the athletic stance, and it will also have a high beltline to accentuate contours. The grille is complemented by LED lighting, and dual-element taillamps are situated above the dual exhaust outlets. There’s also an integrated spoiler and standard 18-inch alloy wheels.
“Chevrolet has been at the forefront of each of the major automotive industry trends by anticipating consumer demand and delivering innovative products like Bolt EV, Colorado and Trax,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and head of Global Chevrolet. “The introduction of the all-new Blazer builds on that momentum and further strengthens the most comprehensive lineup of crossovers and SUVs on the market today.”
The interior design will emphasize personalization, as you’ll be able to customize several features thanks to an array of color and trim options. There will also be padded trim, rounded vents, and grab handles on the doors. In short, the driver-centric interior is comfortable, yet it also carries over the sportiness from the exterior styling.

Truck manufacturers face the incredible challenge of making trucks more capable while reducing their fuel consumption. General Motors may have done just that with an all-new engine that will come standard in some Chevrolet Silverado models. The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will see a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine that uses every sip of fuel wisely.
The 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine will replace the V6 engine in some 2019 Silverado 1500 models. The new engine will benefit from active cylinder management technology. Thanks to the fuel-saving technology, the Silverado 1500 will cut two of the four cylinders when full power isn’t necessary.
Drivers worried the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 won’t live up to the competition should put their fears aside. The turbocharged engine will produce more torque than the base V6 engines. Total performance output comes to 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque.
Chevrolet has yet to release any official fuel economy figures, but the turbocharged four-cylinder engine with active cylinder management is sure to increase the full-size truck’s efficiency. The automaker also assured truck enthusiasts that the Silverado’s turbocharged engine will offer comparable capability to competitors with V6 engines.
The 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine won’t be the only fuel-efficient powertrain available in the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. A new turbo diesel six-cylinder engine is expected to join the range in the near future.

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado has been the talk of the automotive industry since it made its official debut weeks ago. Thanks to some dedicated researchers, we now know what to expect under the hood of the new model. According to information obtained from order guides by GM Authority, the Chevrolet Silverado will feature two V8 engine options for the 2019 model year.
The 5.3-liter V8 engine is the smaller of the two engines and carries over from the outgoing 2018 Silverado. Its performance output remains the same as in the 2018 model, up to 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission.
The larger 6.2-liter V8 engine sees a slight change in performance from the 2018 model. The refreshed powertrain will produce 425 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. That engine comes mated to an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission.
Drivers that want a different engine are in luck as Chevrolet has confirmed that the upcoming 2019 Silverado will be available with six engine and transmission combinations. One of the new engines is a 3.0-liter Duramax® diesel six-cylinder engine. A new base engine is likely on the docket as well.
The experts at GM Authority believe that another V8 engine will slot between the 5.3- and 6.2-liter engines. An electrified or hybrid powertrain certainly isn’t out of the question either.
We can’t wait for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado to finally get here. Contact the ream at Vann Gannaway Chevy to learn more about this vehicle (and when to expect it in the dealership).
The world is more quickly embracing alternative fuel technologies as we begin to more fully understand the negative effects that gas-powered vehicles can have on our environment. Chevrolet has been at the forefront of the mission to introduce these alternative fuel vehicles to the market with options like the Malibu Hybrid, Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid, and Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicle.
In fact, very recently, GM CEO Mary Barra stated that Chevrolet would be increasing production of the Chevrolet Bolt at its Orion Assembly plant near Detroit in order to embrace the future of electric driving. Doing so will create more jobs in the city of Detroit.
In an interview, Barra told CNBC, “I think it’s [adoption of EVs] going to happen more quickly than decades. As more and more people recognize that we have the right range, understand that we have a charging infrastructure so they don’t think you’re going to be stranded, I think you’re going to see EV adoption continue.”
Barra is right: The Bolt in particular has largely reduced range anxiety, as it can go 238 miles on a full charge. GM is also looking to partner with energy industry players to build a greater network of EV charging stations in the US. This is just one of many reasons Chevrolet continues to be among the best automotive brands around.

When it comes to helping veterans, General Motors is serious. Earlier this year, Chevrolet sold two Corvettes at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. Combined, the two Corvettes fetched $2.325 million that will be donated to veterans organizations. Here at Vann Gannaway Chevrolet, we are proud to see Chevrolet doing so much to support our veterans.
The first model was a Corvette Carbon 65 Edition signed by President George W. Bush. This model was bought by John Staluppi, owner for Atlantic Automotive Group. He bought this unique model for $1.4 million. This money will be donated to Bush Center’s Military Service Initiative, which assists post-9/11 veterans and their families transition back to civilian life.
Next up on the auction block was a Corvette ZR1. This first production model was purchased by Rick Hendrick, chairman of Hendrick Automotive Group, for $925,000. The proceeds from this sale will benefit the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This organization supports wounded veterans.
“GM and Chevrolet are proud to honor and support the brave men and women of our armed forces,” said Steve Hill, GM vice president of U.S. sales and service. “Thanks to the generosity of two of our dealers, John Staluppi and Rick Hendrick, we will be able to offer additional support to some of our most severely wounded veterans.”
We applaud Chevy’s presence at this event. If you’d like to test drive a Corvette for yourself, simply visit us at Vann Gannaway Chevrolet.
